@sapphiretaurus, understood. By the 80's I had stopped listening to "canned" music. I didn't discover some of the exceptions until I began watching YT videos. Jose Feliciano, for example. His voice dropped as he got older, and it just became rich with resonance. Jennefer Rush is another example. Nana Mouskouri. Lara Fabian. Sting. As for the period 1930 - 1959, that's a whole nother discussion. Then, we'd have to back up further and get into Puccini, Verdi, Mozart, and on and on.
