Thank you for making videos such as these ones! I love pits! I have a stafforshire terrier my brother as 3 of them! They are the best dogs we have ever had or grown up around! I wish more people would be aware that is how they are raised that makes them mean and vicious and not human nature to attack a human. I believe when a dog bites, it's because he is letting out all his stress, pain, and sadness out on one being. That being just happens to be a human. Most of the time, it's because the dog has had a bad life or has been hurt and beaten himself. There's no need to blame the dog, but rather his owner. The reality is that certain breeds APPEAR more aggressive. These are the breeds that are taken and then TURNED aggressive. Since non-mean looking dogs are NOT usually taken to be beaten into a vicious state, we get the illusion that mean looking dogs are mean. It is both genetics and the way they were raised that make any dog how it is. A bad owner can ruine a good dog. However, most bad owners do not know enough to buy a wellbred, good dog so they buy a badly bred, unstable dog. An unstable in an unstable household is an accident waiting to happen. No, I watched the video. Your argument was that only abusive owners make pits attack humans. Your "no matter the situation" belief leaves out well-meaning kind people that get in over their head and can't control their dog. That bodes ill for any breed. Its not always abuse that leads to aggression. In my mind, lock refers to an action rather than a mechanism. There is plenty of footage of a powerful pit bulls refusing to let go.

Im sure he does train ridiculously hard, but here's the thing, fedor has never legitimately lost a fight in his entire mma career! He doesn't know what that feels like, how that can drive you to be better, arlovski does know what that feels like and has gotten a lot better since his losses to sylvia, im not saying that arlovski winning is a done deal, but i think he's a much more worthy opponent for fedor then people are giving him credit for.

I don't believe in any breed bans-" punish the deed, not the breed". In the majority of cases the pits were mistreated. The top three breeds for dogbites are cockers, dalmatians and chihuahua's. Still, having been threatened by a pit bull I think the breed should be outlawed. All existing pit bulls should be sterilised IMHO. There needs to be regulations on who is reputable. ADBA and UKC dont give a shit they just want there money for papers! I think if people advertize adds with save the pitbulls or any breed they dont neeed to advertize puppys. That too me is a breeeding pratice! No it is on your head when you sell the puppy to someone. It is your responsiblity to contract so that the pup you sale doesn't make its way to the pound!

A good American Pit Bull Terrier will never have a 'man-biter trait', as any that showed this trait were killed on the spot, thus breeding a new trait-fear of biting man. If you're dumb enough (not you personally) to buy from an unreputable breeder (i.e. muglestons' 'farm') then be it on your own head. It's easy to tell a safe dog from a dangerous one, but it is true that pit dogs are not for the novice. Bad idea...very bad.

It's not a case of 'don't breed', it's a case of quit breeding shit. The best breeders will have a litter once, MAYBE twice a year, following the standards and keeping excellent temperament. It's backyard breeders, puppy mills, and 'fad' breeders who've ruined this breed and these are targets to aim for.

My point exactly. Idiots of today are mixing the breeding process with other breeds to create a look instead of breeding for what the pits were of yester years. True dogmen of the past would have put a pit to sleep if it bit a human. It was too dangerous to breakup a fight if they allowed this trait to continue. We all need to remember that the violent past of this breed is our doing and now we need to correct it. I am a novice and my pit is as sweet as pie. Reputable breeder is the way to go.

LOVE this video, couldn't have put it better myself. I like mastiffs and giant molassar breeds too, but pits they are not. Some of the dogs not only do not look like a classic pit anymore than a lab does, but some look to be severely obese, others look so physically unsound. Its shocking to see any breed degenerate to this point. Look at that 'hippo' in front of the playground, can the dog even walk? or jog a block? YIKES! Opening the vents allows more air to circulate in the coals, and since fire needs air, the temp gets hotter.. You can lower the temp by cutting back on some of the air supply, by closing the vents, but I don't recommend closing them all the way.. else you're susceptible to coating your meat with creosote, a nasty, bitter resin given off by fire that normally escapes through the vents.. hope this helps..
