Whenever people come over i go up to my room, i havent been to the mall in probably 2 years,, i cant speak to women and havent ever had a girlfriend in my life, i dont turn in essays in my english class because i dont want my teacher to think im stupid, ive gone to one high school homecoming in my life (by myself) and stayed for about 20 minutes then left, do i have social anxiety disorder?

Theres a method i use that can work for me, and it is fuck em! but really i havent had a serious relationship in my life, im 24 and its because of this SAD i think, takin drugs hasnt helped me either

it's a very disheartening thing to realize sometimes when you find that some of your friends, family and/or other people you love and care about are affected by SAD or a similar form of this. theres a study i remember reading about recently that concerns why so many people, particularly the younger generation, are experiencing this degree of social phobia by adolescence. many ppl just aren't aware that more and more teenagers nowadays are being diagnosed with some kind of personality disorder.

A whole lot of this show seemed very relevant to the way Ive been feeling since I was about 11 years old. Im now 27. One part that struck me, was ive had the internet for 2 years now, & like was said in the show, it's much easier to sit at the screen and talk to people behind closed doors so to speal. Not anymore, I want a life, and I want to live it. Doctors appointment to be amde I think.

I use to be able to talk to people so easy! And then one day its just like BAM! You cant talk to anybody anymore. Your affraid your gonna say somthing wrong and people are gonna think your weird. Yeah i feel just like that now =/ and i use to have soo many best friends, now i can only talk to two of them. And i have NO idea how to tell my parents about this. They just say im shy or its all in my head or somthing like that.

In school, I've heard people think I'm too quiet. I feel so awkward going to parties and I find I can't even get into a conversation with strangers. When ever I find someone I want to approach, I over think and worry how the person might perceive me. Strangely enough, the only thing I enjoy is acting so I don't have to be myself. I'm comfortable on stage if I'm too focused on work. Gosh, now college!

I get nervous when I goto the store, at work, at the bank,the airport is terrifying.I think I make other people nervous by the way I come off and I had quit my past job cuz I just felt stupid around guests. I dont get panic attacks. I just wish I could function normally without worries, without prethinking everything. I know that if I didn't get so nervous and timid about things, I may be able to show my best qualities, in which I really wish people knew me as. I wish it would just all go away!

i think if i was dark skinned i would feel better but its always in my head there gonna see its gonna happen then it does. im taking medication now it helps but im not 100 percent i keep getting stronger dosages hope i get more better soon!!

Don't ever take Paxil. It made me gain a lot of weight which didn't help my SAD at all and I lost my emotions. When I got off it I felt like jumping out of my 10 story window and ending my misery. I would go to the liquor store to numb my pain but that only temporarily helps. I tried therapy but they only look at me like I'm weird because they can't relate. The shrink who prescribed me Paxil told me "Being scared is your MO." I wouldn't wish SAD on anyone.

My brothers and all my cousins have been in relationships and I'm sure my whole family wonders about me and know I'm fucked up. It's at a point where I'm embarressed with myself to be around them. At family parties my brothers are the hit of the parties ands I just sit there so I start avoiding those parties which I regret. Because of my ADD people talk to me like I'm dumb at work which causes me to obsess over it. I make it look like it doesn't bother me but it does deeply.

I blush real easily because of my complextion. My face gets red real easily and I shake and stumble words in any presentations in school so I avoided all small classes and ones that required presentations. I get like that when people joke with me and expect me to say something intelligent or when I'm put on the spot. My 2 younger brothers are very normal loud mouthed funny men and speak intelligently.

At least you have female friends. I'm too shy even for that. I'm almost 30 and never been with a girl in any way either. I wouldn't know where to begin. I feel so unintelligent and I'm not articulate at all. I don't understand what people are talking about in most conversations and feel like everyone is so much smarter than me.

yeah, i'm sure my psychical appearance isn't helping my SAD at all. . .i'm not sure if i'm self-conscious of my body however, or at least i haven't put too much thought about it. . it's more that i just have given up and don't care. . . i'm 5'7" and 230lbs so it's not really working for me

I don't talk on the phone either. . .i have 'electronic' communication.. . it's weird, i would rather talk to people in person because it's kinda more meaningful in a friendship way. . but because of SAD i can't. . so therefore i don't talk to anyone really.

Believe me i know. . . and what's worse for me is that i so want to have a girlfriend. i don't even care for the kissing or sex because i've all but given up on that.. . but i just want someone who i can relate to and someone for the emotional help and stability.
